Problems with scam messages

We have recently been having problems with a small number of people, who have signed up with MuslimIntro.com and used their accounts to send scam messages to our members.

Typically, these people are not Muslims, they have non-Muslim names, and their profiles state they are from Ivory Coast or Nigeria. They use the MuslimIntro.com messaging system to contact members with requests for money. The story often is that they will give you millions, in return for an initial investment from you.

This is a common scam, known as the 419 scam.

Sometimes, our members have been contacted directly via their email addresses. This can only happen if a member has written his/her email address in their profile. A warning about this problem (which affects all websites) is given before you allow your email address to be publically shown on your profile.

Report scam messages

While this issue is an inconvenience, it is not itself harmful.

If you receive any such scam messages through the MuslimIntro.com messaging system, please report them to us so we can close down the accounts used to send them.

Simply click on the "Report this message" link at the bottom of the message:

If you suspect that a MuslimIntro.com member is using his/her account to scam or defraud or harm someone else, please contact the MuslimIntro.com Support Team so that we can investigate and take action.
